Monotypes

The monotypes in Menos Pausa extend the research into a medium in which the creative process itself becomes inseparable from the subject of the work. Printed on cotton paper using feminine hygiene pads of different shapes and sizes as printing matrices, together with watercolor paint, the works transform an everyday object into both image and gesture. Titles such as Always and Carefree reference the commercial brands of these products, establishing a direct relationship between material, memory, and lived experience.

By relocating an object traditionally associated with women's intimate lives into the field of printmaking, the series re-signifies something that has long been rendered invisible or approached with discomfort. The repetitive act of printing transforms the pad into a tool of image-making, allowing a functional object to become trace, imprint, and visual language.
