Photographic Series

The photographic series marks the beginning of the research developed in Menos Pausa. Built through self-portraits, staged photographs, and symbolic objects, the images do not seek to document the experience of menopause but rather to give visual form to the physical, emotional, and psychological transformations that accompany this period of life.

Close framing predominates throughout the series, bringing the viewer into intimate proximity with the body and reinforcing the personal nature of the research. The photographs alternate between overexposed and underexposed images, creating a visual dialogue with the physical and emotional fluctuations experienced throughout this process. Skin textures, grey hair, flowers, fruit, and other organic elements emerge as metaphors for time, vulnerability, and transformation, constructing a visual narrative that privileges embodied experience over documentary representation.
